After I started working at AFOS I quickly realised what a professional, yet people orientated company it was.  Throughout my time at AFOS I have had the opportunity to travel both for client meetings as well as taking part in exhibitions and whilst I love the hot climates that I have visited, I have to say that my favourite place so far has been the Isle of Man – a beautiful and friendly island!

My understanding and knowledge of the business has grown in both sectors.

Whilst previously working in large corporate companies, the change to now being involved in a smaller company has been refreshing but equally rewarding and this is down to a strong, supportive and dedicated staff team who have a passion backed up with an excellent work ethic.

AFOS has offered me opportunities that I will be forever grateful for.  Through my time at AFOS I have travelled around the world, both on my tools as an Engineer and now in my role as Director. In addition to this I also have the pleasure of working with a dynamic and enthusiastic team whos insight into the work that we do will ensure we remain leaders within our fields.

Since the beginning of my career at AFOS in the Service department, I have progressed in the business and now, as a Director I have a great feeling of self-achievement, from a single mum not having two pennies to rub together and now part owning a business!

I work alongside a great team of Directors and we continue to strive as a business and look to grow continually.

Positive attitudes, great employees, teamwork and our passion for what we do, all helps to face challenges and enjoy working together as a team.

Since joining AFOS in April 2019, I’ve been proud to be part of a company that truly feels like family. Now in a leadership role within the Servicing department, I enjoy the challenge of managing a fast-paced environment and working with a dedicated team committed to delivering top-quality maintenance and after-sales care. My passion lies in providing excellent customer service, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a business that shares that same core value – ensuring every client feels valued, supported, and well looked after.

Having joined AFOS in 2023 I have had the great opportunity to work directly under Debbie McNally and start building a career.

I have gained immense knowledge in my role and consider myself well on my way to becoming an expert in the industry.

I started working at AFOS as a temp for one week and have never left! I am presently the longest serving member of the company.

Over the years there has been many changes, my role has changed considerably over this time.

I have seen many changes over the years, the team we have now is a very friendly, dedicated and supportive one, which I am pleased to say I am part of.

I came into this role directly from University and the ‘on tap’ support that I have and continue to receive has made this transition smoother and much more manageable.  I have been given the opportunity to run my own projects from start to finish and the environment that I work in supports the quote that ‘there is not such thing as a silly question’ and this has increased my confidence 10 fold and I relish the opportunities in front of me.

As the ‘newbie’ to the team I have been welcomed into the AFOS company and look forward to being part of a group of people who are both dedicated and passionate about maintaining the highest quality of equipment into both the Food and the Medical sectors.  I look forward to the challenges ahead and the opportunity to be at the top of my game.

I came into AFOS on a temporary contract and never left!  My role has developed and grown over my time here and the training has matched my development.  The company is friendly and supportive, both of which lead to a happy place to work.

One of the positives of being at AFOS is the variety of work my role offers, from being able to travel to different sites and see our machines in action to shipping parts all over the world. This job truly keeps me on my toes.

When I first started at AFOS they said, “you spend more time at work then you do at home so why be miserable” and they really mean that here, it is such a fun and exciting place to work that it makes me want to work hard and put pride in my work.

I’ve only recently joined AFOS, but I already feel at home. Everyone has been so welcoming. I’m really enjoying the variety in my role—it keeps me on my toes. It’s been great learning all about what AFOS does and the important work the company is involved in. This is very different from any job I’ve had before, and I’m looking forward to growing within the role and building strong relationships with suppliers over time.

Throughout my time at AFOS I have enjoyed and relished the variety and diversity of the job.  The New Product Development is always a good project to work on as the samples go down a treat!

The support and training I have received at AFOS has grown my confidence massively which is good as the first project I worked on was the install of the biggest smoking kiln we produce – nothing like learning on the job!

I enjoy the variety of work I am able to do on a daily basis. AFOS is supporting me in pursuing further qualifications to improve my skills and further my career.

I am currently completing my Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Engineering here at AFOS.

I love learning how things go together and how to make them work. AFOS has provided me the opportunity to learn about a variety of equipment while working with some amazing people.

Since I have been at AFOS I have greatly appreciated the level of support I have received to help me grow as an engineer. The career progression available pushes me to improve every day.

The office team are always extremly helpful ensuring I have everything I could need.

I have loved my time at AFOS so far and can’t wait to continue. The support I have recieved from everyone has been wonderful but especially my manager Tom, you can really tell he cares about our education and progression.

I am really looking forward to learning and getting valuable experiance with AFOS. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. My manager Tom always goes above and beyond to make sure I fully understand everyting and truly cares.
